The Split-Personality Bags have been a hit.. I just received some more leathers that will work great either by themselves or as Split-Personalities.. Go, Look, Have Fun,, but be careful, you may find you need one now!!!!

SO... I took the leather pictures over again- this time inside under the Ott Light....  And my, oh my, what a difference.. Check it out..

Color Issues

It has been brought to my attention that the colors for the new leathers for The Split-Personality Bags are all out of whack... I am going to re-take the pictures tomorrow, inside, not outside and see if I can get better shots... Keep your fingers crossed!!

I have added photos of the Split-Personality Bags and the leathers for the bags. The prices are the same as the one-leather bags.. With this exception. If you chose on smooth leather and one hair-on leather, the price will be between the prices for a regular leather bag and a hair-on one.. Just e-mail me for details if this is confusing. As always, I want you to support your local yarn shop, but if yours does not carry my bags just e-mail me. I can work with you directly, or maybe we can get your yarn shop to carry my bags!! Either way, I love hearing from you.

Following is a copy of the e-mail sent out by Lettuce Knit sent out yesterday.  All I can say is "Yoo-Hoo, Hope to see you there!"  

Lawre makes the most amazing fully lined knitting bags out of gorgeous upholstery and silk fabrics with matching hand braided leather handles and pockets galore.  Words fail us trying to describe them but we're going with understatement and saying STUPENDOUS.

Lawre herself is bringing the bonanza of bags we ordered to the shop and if you want a real treat, come meet her and see her work:

We will have drawings for a goodie basket and some gift certificates, as well as refreshments featuring – hold on to your hats – caramels made by nuns!

Addition

It was brought to my attention (what would I do with out you, Jane?) that I did not show the interior so that it could be seen without all the stuff in there... So here it is

Lookey, Lookey

I have been playing around with a two-tone leather bag. The Little "L" with a split personality. Tell me what you think.
This one is black leather on the right and a really cool woven brown leather on the left.
A friend of my neighbor ordered one in green, One side smooth leather and the other embossed. She put it on the Bag Envy page of Ravelry and several people expressed interest. This Little "L" is the result of that interest and will shipped out tomorrow. I wanted to share it with you.
Here is the inside:
As you can see there is a pocket just right for a cell phone and an I-pod. One for a calculator and business card holder. One for a change purse- mine is a beaded cow.. My "Cash Cow", she holds my moo-la. Side pockets for pens. And the center is just right for a check book and wallet.  Now think about the knitting this baby can hold!

I am on the prowl for some unique leathers and have a piece of yellow "gator" that I will make up and show you soon.. If you can't wait just e-mail me and I can send a picture.

Trunk Show At Yarn Explosion

Hey every one.. A reminder of my Trunk Show at Yarn Explosion on Saturday May 30 from 10 am till 3 pm.  A wonderful day at a very fine LYS in Roanoke- near the airport.. I do hope to see lots of you there.

I Think It Is Spring!!

We had a long cold winter and I think Spring is finally here!! Our last frost date is next week, but I think the apples are safe. Looks like a good crop coming.. All the signs point to good weather to come.. Time for a new Spring Lawre's Laine Knitting Bag...

Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is a sure marker. It was rainy and a bit cool, but all-in-all, a fine week-end. Met a lot of old friends and make some new ones as well. It was great seeing all of you. Morgaine at Carolina homespun has some new Lawre's Laine Bags, so if you see her out on the west coast, check them out.

April was a very busy month. The trunk show at Knit Wits in Virginia Beach was a ball. I love seeing all my friends there. Knit Wits is such a bright, happy, friendly store. Sharon is always on the look out for new, unique yarns. Keep on the look out for new bags arriving there.

I have new shops to add to the Lawre's Laine family.

First is Yarn Explosion in Roanoke. This store does not have my traditional bags. Instead I am making them one-of-a-kind shopping bags and Zip Accessory Pouches. You have to stop by and check them out. Also see what a nice yarn shop has been added to the Roanoke Knitters' choices. I will doing a trunk show there on May 30, come on by.

The second is Lettuce Knit in Richmond. They have a few bags in the store now and a nice big order is in the works. Also look for a trunk show in the future.

The third is Knitting Addiction on the Outer Banks. A small collection of bags will be on the way to Knitting Addiction soon. They want to see what their customers are drawn to, so please go by and let them know.

Check out the fabric lists. I have some very nice new fabrics. AND some old faithfuls are all gone.. Just as it should be!!

On the what's next list......

On May 16, I will be at Spring Fiber Festival at Sedalia.. Big Island, Virginia. A small, one day, very nice fiber festival. Just a load of fun.. Come on by, I would love to say "Hey"...And I will have a new product or two for you to see.....

And don't forget to come visit at Yarn Explosion on May 30..

And I have been mull over doing a Twitter feed.. I can't seem to find the time to blog as often as I like,, but Tweet???? I may just be able to squeeze that in. Will be working on it in the next few days and will announce the unveiling here..

Trunk Shows!!!!

Hello Everyone!

I do hope the new year is treating you kindly. I understand that a whole lot of knitting is going on- keeping our favorite yarn shops hopping. I know I am doing my share!

I have some trunk shows scheduled.. check out the list for exact locations and times.

Holly Spring Homespun is hosting the first Lawre's Laine show of the year. Make it a date to come on out. See my new fabrics and knitting accessories. A fun time is awaiting you.

KnitWits is next up on the schedule. April 25 is the date-- mark it on your calender. I can't wait to see all my friends there in Virginia Beach.

The spinning retreat in West Virginia in March was going to be a must-do for me this year. But, blame my sister and my niece, I can't make it..  See me crying?? My niece is getting married, and family does come first. After all-- there will be a party!! And lace and cake. I ask you, Which would you choose?? Although I can't make it, some of my bags and accessories will be in attendance-- feel free to shop away. If anyone has a special request for the retreat just e-mail me and will do my best.

So, this is all the news that is fit to read but keep checking- I have a few other trunk show dates yet to be finalized.
